How Will Laser Cleaning Develop?

Take the removal of thick paint on the surface of the shipbuilding industry as an example. The advantages of laser cleaning in paint removal have been verified in the market (including the paint removal of high-speed railways, subway wheels, aircraft skins, etc.), but the shipbuilding industry still uses sandblasting to remove thick paint on the hull surface. Although people have greatly improved the efficiency of laser paint removal by improving the process and increasing the power, the efficiency is still too low for the paint removal demand of a ship of tens of thousands of square meters. The reason is largely related to insufficient laser power. In addition, laser cleaning equipment currently popular in the market is mostly handheld and requires manual operation by workers. It is more flexible when cleaning small molds, but it is inefficient when facing cleaning in the aerospace, shipbuilding, and large infrastructure fields. At the same time, when laser cleaning is used as a pre-welding and post-welding treatment process, it takes time and manpower to use handheld devices to clean and then carry out the transfer. Therefore, laser cleaning is inevitably moving towards automation and intelligence. Through the combination with other manufacturing equipment, one production line can solve all the problems of one product.
