Different power fiber laser cutting machines have different cutting speed, depth and thickness ranges. Then how to choose the right power?
Fiber laser cutting machine has a relatively prominent advantage in sheet metal process. It relies on the high temperature generated by the laser to melt the surface of the sheet metal part, and and realize the cutting by controlling the displacement through the numerical control system. The advantages of laser processing are mainly reflected in the high degree of flexibility, no deformation, small slits, smooth section without burrs, and the ability to cut arbitrary complex graphics on the workpiece. For different sheet thickness, the output laser power plays a decisive role in the quality of the slit and the cutting speed.
The above figure is a comparison diagram of cutting process parameters of 500W and 1000W fiber laser cutting machines. Take carbon steel material as an example. As shown in the figure, the maximum speed of carbon steel under 2mm using 500W machine is about 6.6 meters per minute, and the maximum speed of using 1000W machine is about 8 meters per minute; 6mm carbon steel uses 500W The maximum cutting speed of the machine is about 0.8 meters per minute, and the maximum speed of using a 1000W machine is about 1.6 meters per minute. It can be seen that the 1000W machine has a speed advantage for thicker carbon steel plates.
Taking stainless steel as an example, as shown in the figure, the maximum speed of using a 500W machine to cut stainless steel below 2mm is about 8 meters per minute, while the maximum speed of using a 1000W machine to cut can reach about 17 meters per minute; stainless steel about 3mm uses 500W The maximum cutting speed of the machine is about 0.4 meters per minute, while the maximum speed of cutting using a 1000W machine is about 1.4 meters per minute. The gaps are very obvious. It can be seen that for cutting stainless steel plates, especially thinner stainless steel, a 1000W fiber laser cutting machine is obviously a more sensible choice.
